Yes. Cafec brewing equipment and filter papers are manufactured in Japan, maintaining the high standards of quality and precision that have made Cafec a trusted name among coffee professionals and home brewers worldwide.

What makes Cafec filter papers different?

Cafec filter papers are designed specifically to optimise coffee extraction. Different paper types feature unique densities, crepe patterns and flow rates, allowing you to tailor your brew to different coffee styles and roast profiles.

What's the difference between Light Roast, Medium Roast and Dark Roast filter papers?

Each filter paper is designed with a different flow rate to complement specific roast characteristics:

  • Light Roast papers slow the flow slightly to encourage fuller extraction.
  • Medium Roast papers offer balanced flow and extraction.
  • Dark Roast papers promote faster flow to help reduce bitterness and over-extraction.

Many brewers also experiment across different paper types to achieve their preferred flavour profile.

What are Abaca filter papers?

Abaca filter papers are made using sustainably sourced Manila hemp fibres combined with wood pulp. They are known for their excellent flow rate, durability and clean cup profile, making them a favourite among specialty coffee enthusiasts.
